A downloadable game

Buy Now$2.99 USD or more

I don't want to waste your time, so here's a quick rundown of the game:

Trailer

- Since the trailer has a couple NSFW elements that wouldn't fly on YouTube, it's been made downloadable on this page through the demo files system. It has been updated to the new trailer that will likely be used on Steam.

Demo

- A new demo has been uploaded that allows you to visit up to the southernmost point in Groggy Woods. It's a pretty sizeable demo and offers replayability via the Healer, the Royal Soldier, and some others, so check it out if you're interested.

Selling Points

- "Strip 'em up" turn-based bullet hell gameplay for many of the characters. Meet the right people, do a good job, knock off their clothes. Simple as that.

- 6+ fully romanceable characters (maybe there are some secret ones -- you'll have to find out).

- Several other "partially romanceable" characters.

- Interactive adult (NSFW) scenes and art. (Thanks to the amazing, gifted Hatdog Guhitera, yinyang, and Calx for the art!)

- Adult (NSFW) sound clips accompany many of the NSFW interactions in the game. (Thanks to the lovely, talented Cynth for voice work!)

- Potentially funny and/or deep writing at times. Some people might not think so.

- No censorship, full nudity.

- You can sniff (almost) every bed. It's a long story.

- A fully-unique, custom "battle dating" system that helps liven up RPG Maker by not using the traditional native battle system.

- Fully-fleshed out fantasy story narrative where you play a new mage at a prestigious academy, destined to save the Andere Realm.

- Many secrets, if you know where to look.

- A handful of minigames, some of which parody other games that are much better than mine, such as "Parchment, Please" and "Like a Phoenix: Mage Attorney."

- A warning system for letting people consent only to the content they want to see.

- Many (but not all) books in the game are fully readable. There are likely a couple hours of content just in the reading.

- Many random events for the female main character to be the target of NPC desire.

- Some innocence/corruption gameplay elements, generally revolving around the six main stats.

- A hidden character that will give you NSFW instructions to follow in real life, if desired and if playing as the male main character.

- A panty collection system, with general pairs collected in high numbers, and specific pairs from specific romantic interests collected as trophies.

- A spell that lets you summon a wolf you can pet whenever you want (yes, I do think this is a selling point).

- The ability to get an X-Ray helm that lets you run around peeking under clothes.

- A full postgame that still allows you to do some of the minigames and romance some of the characters even after you've completed the plot. The postgame also includes bonus art and a bonus village to visit.

Drawbacks

- Resolution. It's a limitation of RPG Maker VX Ace. You CAN get full screen with F1 while playing, if you want. (Note: It has been found in testing that this can cause some text to get cut off; limitation of the engine)

- Scenes aren't animated. It just wasn't in the budget. I focused on commissioning versatile, quality art instead.

- Hit boxes can be finicky, another RPG Maker VX Ace limitation. Best to avoid bullets or stand still well ahead of time. About half the time, the finicky nature works out in the player's favor, however. The mechanic of not moving when bullets are close is key to combat, and trying to "outsmart" the engine often results in damage. I recommend moving one square at a time very carefully when you're in a tight spot.

- While this game was already playtested extensively, I developed it entirely on my own. Bugs are still possible. I will try to get fixes out, but you might have to make a new save.

- The game could have benefited from full voice acting and more poses/facial expressions, to be honest. I'm happy with what's here, but I wanted you to be aware.

- A warning system for letting people consent only to the content they want to see. Yes, this is also under Selling Points. I feel many people won't want to have to click past a warning to see NSFW content, but it was important to me for this game. Hopefully it's not too obtrusive.

- The "go everywhere, get everything, do everything" play time is probably only about 10-15 hours max. You could speed run this game in 3-5. I did try to add replayability, but be aware it's not a 50-hour game.

Obligatory NSFW (Sexual) Content Warning:

This game contains sexual, adult content not suited for minors. It also touches on elements of mental, emotional, physical, and psychological health. It also contains scenes with kinks that may not be for everyone. Please be thorough when reviewing the warning/tagging system at the start of the game. This game AIMS to be a set piece capable of being played entirely SFW and asking for your consent each and every time before delving into adult content. However, please assume you will encounter NSFW, sexual, adult-only content, probably on the pretty kinky side. Basically, assume you will see some crazy shit if you play this game.

Tried to set an appropriate price (it's actually even lower than it used to be). I hope everyone has fun. I made this game at a difficult time in my life, and I realize I should probably make it sound more marketable, but I'm not interested in selling you a dumpster fire, just honest work for an honest fee that hopefully delivers you a higher quality experience than the short shovelware games typical of the Adult Content genre. I hope the graphics and engine are the ONLY thing about this game you have to excuse.

Finally, a special thanks to my friends, family, and most of all, my loving partner, for keeping me going through crisis after crisis, and for giving me the support and stability to achieve my dream of finishing a full game.

Made with love,

Beat the game and its pretty fun although I have a question for the post game

Spoilers below

I got to see Fiera's body but I don't know what to do after that. I thought the random words around the ice village was something but decoding it didn't work. If you could help that would be much appreciated!

Thanks for checking out the game! I'll start with a small hint and if you want a bigger one, just let me know.

Google "Substitution cipher"

I will also say those words around Triot Village are basically just a teaser for something. A big something, but still just a teaser at this time.

PS - If you're looking for something more in the postgame, have you found the hidden final boss?

I believe so! Is it in "someone's home" with the guy you can try and date? He was pretty tough but I beat him in the end(and the nsfw scene just sends you to the docs and makes the screen black, dunno if thats intentional or not.

And trying to decipher the code got me

THEANDEREREALM ERGAV

GREGVNEL TUNDRAHEARTS

CEVZVF FINDOUTIN

I couldn't figure out a way to decode some of the words but I think I get the picture. I'm still not sure how much more stuff is in Triot Village and if there is more how to unlock it.

On top of that I found a pretty neat bug on how to get into the school from the post game. Going to student employment and working at the infirmary then leaving sets you back to the school. Although I couldn't find a way back from there. You can continue on and do the entire story again if you really want to.

The game is pretty good although some stuff did get through the cracks. If there are any well hidden secrets I'd like some hints on how and where to find them

Thank you for bringing these to my attention. There are a couple bugs at play there, so I’m going to get them fixed and try to get an update pushed to Steam/Itch today. While I do, I will think on any other secrets I can hint at.

Quick update: The Healer’s Assistant fix was super simple. The secret boss has me a bit stumped. Might take me another day or two to get the fix out. The code absolutely looks correct, so if you’re getting sent to the docks on a win, I likely have to re-test the entire current Steam release up to that point myself.

I did think of a rather large secret for you. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND SAVING before even beginning to attempt this.

Somewhere in the Academy are three hidden engravings. They must be pressed in the correct order, and only once. Finding them and pressing each one, in the correct order, only once, will allow you to access a passageway that looks impossible to access (it is also in the school).

Doing so will allow you to access…

Developer tools!

Be VERY careful if you play with those. They can be fun to mess around with, but it will be INCREDIBLY easy to break that save file. I would save in one or two dedicated slots just for that.

Hi again. I finished testing today, and found the issue with going back into the school in both of Rokfax’s employment opportunities in the postgame. Those will be fixed in the release coming up.

As for the developer fight, it actually turns out you are seeing the correct thing. I thought the screen was going dark and you were sent to the docks before seeing the post-fight scene. The actual finding your way back to the light after that scene is intentional.

The fix for the employments should go out tomorrow.

The new build has been posted and I credited you with the finds: https://mothonmars.itch.io/the-andere-realm-a-flicker-of-lust/devlog/836986/new-build-arafl-s3-released

Hi there!

MILD SPOILERS AHEAD

I got the game through steam and I'm currently stuck at Toxindepth village in the mage fight where romagic is being negated, any advice?

(+1)

There is a trick to it that I don't want to necessarily spoil for others.

TGV0IGhpbSB3aW4gYW5kIHdhaXQgYXMgbG9uZyBhcyBpdCB0YWtlcyBkdXJpbmcgdGhlIGdhbWUgb3ZlciBzY3JlZW4=

Decode that using a base64 decoder. Let me know if you have issues and we'll find a way to get you the info.

Thanks! Decoded, read and duly noted!

No problem at all, thanks for playing!

I did buy the version from BasementFullofOwls. How do I get access to newer versions ?

(1 edit) (+1)

ARAFL_S2.exe (the newest version) was pushed to the old BasementFullofOwls page today, which you should still be able to access if you purchased previously. If you still have issues after that push, feel free to let me know.

What are the tag/fetish in the game atm? And Any plan to add?

(+2)

This game is just about complete with no plans for further major content additions. There is a full content tagging system in the game, and you'll be able to see it once the new demo releases soon. All NSFW content in the game is optional/skippable with this tagging system. Some examples of tags include:
NSFW - "Vanilla" NSFW scenes
NSFW,CNC - Depicts some "forceful" scenes such as bondage
NSFW,NHI - NSFW non-human interactions, there are no animals obviously but there are "monsters" and machines
There are more that you'll be able to see in the demo soon.

The demo has been added as of today, wanted to circle back around and let you know.

Is this game downloadable and playable on macOS?

(+1)

No, unfortunately. Limitation of the older engine. My next project is planned to be Mac compatible. You could run this on a Mac but you'd need to run it through a Windows environment, using BootCamp, WINE, or a VM.
